HGOco, the community and education programs arm of Houston Grand Opera, presents Das Barbecü, a light-hearted re-telling of Wagner’s Ring Cycle. Seeking actor-singers who move well for 4 out of 5 roles. Auditions are by appointment only. This production does not fall under union jurisdiction. Rehearsals will be in the evenings and on weekends. Paid. No housing available.
April 3, 2017 – First Rehearsal
April 23 & 30, 2017 – Performances
Please prepare two 32-bar selections: 1 up-tempo and 1 ballad, at least one of which should be in the country/western genre. An accompanist will be provided. Sides will be provided, and a dance call will follow each session.
Auditions will be held at Houston Grand Opera, 510 Preston St. on Saturday, February 11, 2017.
