Please indicate your SECOND choice audition location. If you are absolutely only available for your first choice city, please choose it again.
**Please note: coach/accompanists are usually scheduled for the first slot(s) of each audition day.
If you are selected for a live audition, please prepare all of the following selections.
Play:
Bernstein’s West Side Story, from Act I "The Dance at the Gym" beginning at measure 9 in section 4B (Mambo), and playing to the end of section 4C (Cha-Cha).
Sing and Play:
1. A Mozart aria of your choice preceded by an accompanied recitative.
2. An ensemble excerpt or scene of your choice from a 19th century opera.
3. A brief excerpt of any type of your choice from an opera written since 1940.
**For your sing and play excerpts, one must be in Italian, and one in either French or German. Other languages are allowed but not required.
Applicants must be United States citizens or have the right to work in the United States. Non-U.S. citizens must send a photocopy of right-to-work documentation. (Note: Canadians may gain the right to work by joining Canadian Federation of Musicians and applying for a P2 Visa. This process is completed after succesfully securing a contract with The Glimmerglass Festival and will be done at your own expense).
