Fort Worth Opera Fall 2011 Auditions

This application will be used for both FWOpera Studio auditions and non-managed auditions.  Please submit only one application, and indicate what type of audition you are interested in; artists auditioning for the Studio will be considered for non-managed roles as appropriate.

All artists auditioning in New York must be available to sing at a screening audition and, if selected, at a callback audition the next day.  The audition date in Fort Worth is primarily for FWOpera Studio auditions for singers in Texas and the surrounding areas, but others will be considered as time allows.

The New York screening auditions will be a two- to three-minute, Broadway-style audition, and artists should be prepared with five or six selections.  Artists may choose which selection to sing first, and may be asked to sing portions of other arias.  Based on the screening audition, artists will be selected for a callback audition on November 17.  There is a $10 fee for all people chosen for a screening audition, to cover the cost of the pianist which will be provided for both days; singers may choose to use their own accompanist.  Please do not send a fee with your materials; the audition fee will be collected on the day of the screening auditions.

Applicants for a non-managed audition or the Fort Worth Opera Studio may submit up to two audio recordings, but this is not required.  There are no specific requirements regarding repertoire or languages for audio selections.
