Jack’s mother was not
In a very good mood,
When she learned that her son
Hadn’t bought any food.
With no fuel for the fire,
And no bread to bake,
Jack soon understood
He had made a mistake.
But his Mom didn’t scold him
Or cause any scenes,
Though, she was unhappy
About those beans.
No use to cry over
Spilled milk now.
Or, speaking of milk…
An old sick cow.
Roles:
The Billy Goats Gruff (June 2022-May 2023)
Lucy - A young girl goat; best friend of Ernesto and Dandini (Soprano or Mezzo)
Ernesto - A young boy billy goat; best friend of Lucy and Dandini (Mezzo or Tenor)
Dandini - A young boy billy goat; best friend of Lucy and Ernesto (Tenor or Baritone)
Osmin - A big bully boy billy goat; best friend to no one (Bass or Baritone)
The Elixir of Love (August 2022-May 2023)
Nemorino - a simple peasant, in love with Adina (Tenor)
Adina- a wealthy landowner (Soprano)
Belcore- a sergeant (Baritone)
Dr. Dulcamara - an itinerant medicine man (Bass)
PLEASE NOTE:
Artists who wish to be considered for a role must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Resident with a valid Green Card, or have a Work or Student Visa valid through the program’s duration (through May 2023) in order to be considered for a role this production.
Artists shall be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination prior to the first rehearsal. If Artist is unable to become vaccinated due to a sincerely-held religious belief or a disability, an exception may be granted. If Artist has not submitted proof of vaccination or substantiated an exception to the satisfaction of The Dallas Opera, this agreement shall be void ab initio, and Artist shall not be entitled to any compensation hereunder.
